Sony ประกาศวางจำหน่ายเกม EARTH DEFENSE FORCE: IRON RAIN ในเวอร์ชั่นภาษาจีนดั้งเดิม, เกาหลี และอังกฤษ บนเครื่องเกม PlayStation 4 วันที่ 11 เมษายน ศกนี้พร้อมกันทั่วโลก โดยโซนเอเชียสามารถพรีออเดอร์ได้ตั้งแต่วันนี้ ผ่านช่องทาง PlayStation Store ซึ่งตัว EARTH DEFENSE FORCE: IRON RAIN เป็นภาคแยกออกมาจากเกมซีรีส์ EARTH DEFENSE FORCE พบกับสมรภูมิใหม่กับกองกำลังชุดใหม่ EDF เนื้อเรื่องของเกมเกิดขึ้นบนโลกที่กำลังเกิดหายนะเป็นผลจากการห้ำหั่นกันด้วยสงคราม คุณต้องร่วมผจญภัยไปกับกองกำลัง EDF เพื่อช่วยกันกอบกู้โลก

เนื้อเรื่องของเกมจะมีความคล้ายคลึงกับเกมต้นฉบับ Earth Defense Force 5 โดยตัวเกมรองรับภาษาจีน และเกาหลีอย่างเต็มรูปแบบเพื่อให้ผู้เล่นสัมผัสประสบการณ์การเล่น และเข้าใจเนื้อเรื่องของเกม EARTH DEFENSE FORCE: IRON RAIN ได้อย่างเต็มที่ สำหรับผู้ที่ซื้อในรูปแบบ Initial Standard Edition, Digital Standard Edition, Deluxe Edition และ Ultimate Edition ผ่านทาง PlayStation Store โซนเอเชียภายในวันที่ 2 มิถุนายน จะได้รับไอเท็มพิเศษตามด้านรายการล่าง นอกจากนี้ผู้ที่พรีออเดอร์เกมในรูปแบบ Digital Edition ตั้งแต่วันนี้ถึงวันพุธที่ 10 เมษายน ศกนี้ จะได้รับไอเทมพิเศษอีกด้วย
